TH Plastics is celebrating having won the coveted Plastic Industry Award for Supplier Partnership: Ancillary Equipment with their Material Feeding project completed with Strata Products (Berry Global).
A ceremony celebrating the achievements of the plastics industry took place at the Intercontinental on Park Lane on Friday, October 18th. An annual event that has been held in London since 2001, the PIA Awards are dedicated to recognising and rewarding innovation and exceptional performance in an increasingly competitive market.
This project was led and designed by Lee Thomas (Managing Director) and, Jonathan Pankethman (UK Sales & Marketing Manager). Gary Colgan (Operations Manager), managed the project with full support from the TH Plastics Engineering team. The project came around because of Strata’s desire to streamline their manufacturing process. Acquisition by Berry Global and their green initiatives helped Strata put together a comprehensive CAPEX to improve the feed system in their 26 machine mouldshop. a. The goal of the project was to provide material from 17 different sources to 26 injection moulding machines, whilst limiting operator intervention and eradicating material starvation issues that cause scrap. The system we designed did not only meet our Strata’s needs, but also allowed for large-scale automation.
TV comedian, Andy Parsons, best known for his role on Mock the Week, presented the award in front of approximately 700 plastics industry professionals. In acceptance of the award, Ash Seddon, General Manager at TH Plastics, and Jonathan Pankethman, were cited by judges as “incredibly impressive and encouraging to the industry”.
General Manager, Ash Seddon comments “At TH Plastics, we thrive on being able to support manufacturers in the plastics industry. Our rate of growth suggests this is something we get right more often than not, and this project was no different. Our diligence of the project from start to finish was at an outstanding level, and the level of customer satisfaction is proof of that. We should all be very proud. It’s a team effort and this is a great sign for the next 12 months as we improve and develop our business.”
At TH Plastics, we continue to build our business on strong partnerships. Our success is directly correlated with our ability to integrate with manufacturers as an extension of their team, offering expertise, capabilities, and a competitive final solution that will ensure the partnership will continue for many years to come.
As a company, TH Plastics commonly implements large systems in under two years payback, but this is our greatest achievement to date. In the next few days, our case study will be available for you to view. It provides an overview of the impressive numbers and equipment incorporated in the project.
