TH Plastic employee Heather Nisbet completed a 22mile walk around the Monopoly route of London, incorporating all of the infamous locations on the board, in order to raise money and awareness for the South African based charity Children of Fire. The company helped Heather raise money for the sponsored walk that took place on 21st May for the charity that looks after children who have been partially or severely burned, disfigured or orphaned by the devastating effects of domestic fires caused by paraffin cookers in the home. The charity is small and yet they do invaluable work with children whose lives have been dramatically impacted by fire and yet whose characters and spirits remain infectiously high and endearing. The charity requires regular publicity and donations from across the globe to support their efforts. More information can be found at www.childrenoffire.org
Heather will also be doing a 10,000.00 ft tandem skydive on 11th June 2011 in an attempt to raise as much money and awareness as possible for Alzheimer’s Society, a charity which is especially close to my heart having affected several family members. I am hoping for good weather and a steady supply of nerves but am greatly looking forward to the challenge…and the scenery!
